How students tick off their own work
Teens use My work on their own account; younger students use Student mode on your device. You confirm what they tick.
Students can tick off their own lessons. What they tick shows as Marked done and waits for a parent to confirm it; it counts in Records once you do.
Teens (13 and up): My work
Teens sign in with their own account (see How teen accounts work).
- Set up their sign-in from their student card on My family. Once they accept, they're linked to that student. (A teen who joined before student cards: under Teens on My family, choose which student they are.)
- To let them add their own lessons, tap Edit on their student card and tick Can add their own lessons (it's off to start).
- Tap Save.
Your teen then sees My work in the menu: today's lessons with their notes and links, the rest of the week, anything still to catch up, and progress bars for the week, each course and the school year.
Younger students: Student mode
Students under 13 don't get their own logins. Instead, hand them your phone, tablet or computer in Student mode:
- In the planner, tap Student mode at the bottom.
- The first time, choose a 4-number PIN and tap Save PIN. Keep it from your students.
- Tap your student's name. The screen shows only their day, in big type: today's lessons (theirs and whole-family ones), anything left from earlier in the week, and how many are done.
- To leave, tap Teacher at the bottom and type the PIN.
Five wrong PINs lock it for 5 minutes. Forgot the PIN? On the Teacher screen, tap Sign out instead, sign back in, and set a new PIN.
Confirm what they ticked
- On Home, Marked done, waiting for you lists everything they've ticked. Tap Confirm, Not yet (it goes back to not done), or Confirm all.
- In the planner, a ticked lesson shows Marked done by … with the same buttons.
Show what's expected
Whatever you put in a lesson's notes shows under it on My work and in Student mode: page numbers, instructions, and links (a web address becomes a link they can tap).
Up to date as of October 30, 2026.
