How to set up co-op classes and enroll your students

Admins set up a term with class times and classes; parents enroll each student and see the family's schedule.

Co-op classes live on your group's Classes tab. Families see the tab once an Admin sets up the first term; until then only Admins do.

Enroll your students (parents)

  1. Open Classes. Classes are grouped by time.
  2. Under a class, tap Enroll with your student's name. If a student can't take it, a grey label says why: they already have a class at that time, or the class is for other ages.
  3. If the class is full, the button says Waitlist. When a spot opens, the first student on the waitlist moves up on their own.
  4. Changed your mind? Tap the × next to your student's name on the class while enrollment is open.

Your family's schedule at the top shows each student's classes, times and rooms.

Class lists are private. Only the teacher, the group's Admins and each student's own family see students' names. Other families see how many spots are taken.

Teachers

If an Admin makes you a class's teacher, open the class to see the Class list with each student's first name, age, family and days attended. Tap Print or save as PDF for a sign-in sheet. You can also change the class description and room.

Message the class's families (teachers and Admins)

On the class's page, tap Message this class's families. It opens one conversation in the group's Chat with the teacher and the parents of every enrolled student, called "[class] families". Anyone in it can reply. Tap the button again later to add parents of students who enrolled since. Teens aren't added.

Assignments (teachers and Admins post; families see them in the planner)

On a class's page, under Assignments, a teacher or Admin fills in Post an assignment: what to do, the day it's due, about how long it takes, and any details (pages, materials, links). Tap Post assignment.

  • It goes straight into every enrolled student's planner on the due day, titled with the class name, like "Art: Sketch one animal". Families tick it off like any lesson, and it counts in their Records. Teens see it on My work.
  • Change an assignment with Edit; families' copies update unless they've already finished it. Delete takes it out of planners unless it's done.
  • Students who join the class later get the assignments still to come. A student who leaves loses the unfinished ones.
  • Everyone in the group can see a class's assignments on its page.

Take attendance (teachers and Admins)

  1. Open the class. Under Attendance, today's meeting day is picked (or the most recent one). Tap another date to change it.
  2. Everyone starts ticked. Untick anyone who wasn't there.
  3. Tap Save attendance. You can come back and Update attendance later.

Each day a student is marked present counts toward their family's Records: one day, plus the class's length in hours (an hour if the class has no set time).

Coming up

Co-op days show on each family's Home page under Coming up, with their students' classes, and on the group's Calendar.

Set up a term (Admins)

  1. On Classes, tap Set up classes (or Manage classes).
  2. Create a term: its name (like "Spring 2027"), first and last day, the days it meets, and optionally when enrollment opens and closes.
  3. Add Class times, like "1st hour, 9:00–9:50". Each student can take one class per time. Skip this if classes don't overlap.
  4. Add a class for each one: the time, a teacher (a parent in the group, or a guest's name), room, youngest and oldest ages, Spots and Fee.

Admins can remove any student from a class list at any time, even after enrollment closes. Making a class bigger moves students up from its waitlist.

Reuse last term's classes (Admins)

After creating a new term, open it in Manage classes. While it has no classes, Start from another term lets you pick an earlier term and tap Copy its classes. Class times and classes come across (not enrollments). Check teachers, rooms and spots afterwards.

Enroll a student for a family (Admins)

Open the class and use Enroll a student… under the class list. Pick the student and tap Enroll. It works even when enrollment is closed and skips the age range, but not the one-class-per-time rule. If the class is full, the student goes on the waitlist.

Up to date as of October 30, 2026.
