How to get notices by text message

For when you're away from email and the app, Gatherings can text you the important things.

Turn it on

1. Open Settings and find Text messages.
2. Type your mobile number, tick the box to agree to texts, and tap Text me a code.
3. Type the 6-digit code from the text and tap Confirm.
4. Tick what you'd like by text and tap Save:
   • Announcements from your groups.
   • Reminders the day before events you're going to, sign-up slots and duty turns.
   • Rides: requests, answers and a reminder about an hour before.
   • Urgent texts from your groups' Admins, like a cancelled co-op day.

Texts for announcements, reminders and rides are part of your family's Hearth. Urgent texts from your groups are free. We don't text between 9 PM and 7 AM, except urgent texts. Email and phone notifications still come as you've set them.

Stop them

Reply STOP to any text, or tap Remove my number in Settings. Text START to turn them back on. Message and data rates may apply.

Send an urgent text (group Admins)

For something that can't wait, open the group's Settings and use Send an urgent text. It goes to parents in the group who said yes to urgent texts, up to 3 a day, and needs Group Hearth. Post an announcement too, for everyone else.

Only you can see your number. Other members never do.
