How times and time zones work

Your time zone

Gatherings picks up your time zone from your phone or computer. You don't need to set it. It decides what "today" means in the planner and on Home, and how event times show on screen.

If you travel, times follow your device. Event times are shown in your local time.

Your group's time zone

Each group also has a time zone. It's used for event times in the emails we send, like new-event emails and the day-before reminder.

The group starts with its founder's time zone. Admins can change it:

1. Open the group's Settings tab.
2. Pick a Time zone.
3. Tap Save settings.
