How to use chores, meals and the shopping list

A family chore chart the kids can tick, a weekly meal plan and a shared shopping list, all private to your household.

Open My family in the menu at the top and choose Chores, meals & shopping (on a phone, tap My family, then the Chores, meals & shopping tab). Only people in your household can see these lists.

Chores

  1. On the Chores tab, a parent adds a chore: name it, choose who does it, tick the days it needs doing (or tap Every day, Weekdays or Weekends), and tap Add chore. It repeats on those days every week until you remove it.
  2. The chart shows the week, with a round tick for each day the chore is due. Tap it when the chore is done; tap again to untick.

For example: "Feed the dog", Billy, Every day. "Clean the bathroom", Sally, just Sun.

Taking turns

For a chore children share, like the dishes, choose Take turns… under Who. Tick the children who share it, pick who goes first, and choose when it switches:

  • Each time it's done: Billy does the dishes one day, Sally the next, and so on (only counting the days it's due).
  • Each week: Billy all this week, Sally next week.

The chart shows whose turn it is under each tick, and each child sees only their own turns on Home and in Student mode.

One-time jobs

For a job that doesn't repeat, like cleaning out the garage, choose One-time job at the top of the form, pick who does it and the day, and tap Add chore. It shows on Home and in Student mode from that day until it's ticked off, even if that takes a few days, and it's listed under One-time jobs below the chart.

  1. Use the arrows to look at last week or next week. ✕ removes a chore (parents only).

Today's chores also show on Home under At home today, and in Student mode a child sees their own chores and the family's under their lessons and can tick them off. Teens can tick chores from Home too.

Meals

On the Meals tab, a parent types breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack for any day of the week and taps Save meals. Leave a box empty for nothing planned. Everyone in the family can see the plan, and today's meals show on Home. Start typing and your recipes are suggested; a meal with a recipe's name links to it.

Shopping list

Anyone in the family, teens included, can add to the list on the Shopping tab. Add several things at once by separating them with commas. Tick items as they go in the cart, then tap Clear ticked items.
