How grandparents and relatives follow along and help with rides

Relatives can have their own sign-in to Gatherings. It's free for them, and it's part of your family's Hearth. (For a simple link with no sign-in, see sharing your schedule.)

Invite a relative (parents)

1. On My family, find Relatives.
2. Type their name ("Grandma Jan") and email, tick what they see, and which students.
3. Tap Send the invite. They get an email with a link that works for 30 days. Send again sends a fresh one.

They sign in (or make a login) with that email, add their name, and they're in.

What they see

A page with the family's next eight weeks, or just this week, day by day: the activities, family events, group events you're going to, birthdays and co-op days you chose. If you allow it, they also see addresses and the teacher's or coach's phone number to tap. At the bottom, they can put the schedule in Google, Apple or Outlook Calendar on their phone.

They never see lessons, records or schoolwork, your groups' conversations, or anything about other families. Students show by first name only.

Change what someone sees with Change what they see. Remove stops it right away.

Ask for a ride or a hand

On Activities, under Rides and help:

• Tap Ask for a ride or a hand, say what for, the day and time, any details, and who to ask.
• Or, on a session in Next three weeks, tap Ask someone to drive.

You can ask families in your groups the same way, for free (how).

Everyone you asked gets an email (and a phone notification, if they've turned those on). They tap I can or I can't. The first yes takes it, you're told, and a ride shows who's driving on that session. If they change their mind, it opens again and you're told. Both of you get a phone reminder about an hour before.

Sorted it out another way? Open Change on the request to choose who's doing it, or cancel it.

For relatives

Sign in at gatherings.school and you land on the family's schedule. If more than one family has invited you, choose one from Families at the top. Requests waiting for you are at the top under Can you help?.

If the family's Hearth ends, their schedule pauses for you and comes back when they renew.
