How to bring your homeschool history over from another planner
Import past lessons and hours from Homeschool Planet, Homeschool Tracker, Homeschool Manager or a spreadsheet.
Parents can bring past lessons into Gatherings, so your days, hours and transcripts start complete. Open Records and tap Bring your history over.
Get your history out of your old planner
Most planners can export or print a report of past lessons or assignments.
- If it exports a spreadsheet or CSV file, use that.
- If it only prints, copy the report's table into Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets first.
- Keeping your own spreadsheet? Use it as it is.
Each row needs a date and what was done. A subject, student, time spent and notes help if you have them. Excel files need to be saved as CSV first.
Import it
- Choose Where is it from?.
- Paste the rows (with the header row) into Your history and tap Read these rows, or tap Or choose a CSV file.
- Under Which column is which?, check our guesses. Date and Lesson are needed; the rest are optional.
- Dates like 3/9/2025 are read month first. If your file is day first, change Dates like 3/9/2025 mean.
- Time can be minutes, hours or 1:30. A column named Hours is read as hours.
- Without a Done? column, past rows count as done and future rows are planned.
- Under Who is who?, match the names in your file to your students. Pick Whole family for rows everyone did, or Leave these rows out.
- Check the totals under Check it over, then tap Import.
New subjects are added to your planner. Lessons already in your planner on the same day, with the same name and student, are skipped, so importing a file twice doesn't double anything.
Undo an import
Every import is listed under Your imports. Tap Undo to take all of its lessons back out of your planner and Records. Subjects it added stay.
