How to give your group a public page

Turn on a simple public page so new families can find your group and ask to join.

Your group is private: people outside it can't see anything. If you'd like new families to find you, an Admin can turn on a public page, a simple web page at app.gatherings.school/groups/your-group that anyone can open and search engines can find.

What's on it

  • Your group's name, description, city or area, logo and cover photo (from Settings).
  • How many families are in the group (just the number).
  • When and where you meet, if you add it.
  • Upcoming events you choose to show (their name, time and place only).
  • An Ask to join button, unless your group joins by personal invitation only.

It never shows your families, members, children, posts, chat, photos, files, Circles or who's coming to events.

Turn it on (Admins)

  1. Open your group's Settings and find Public page. Tap Edit.
  2. Tick Turn on the public page.
  3. Add When and where you meet, like "Thursdays 9–12 at Grace Church, Surprise". Use a public place, never a family's home address.
  4. Tap Save. Copy the link to share it on your website, Facebook or flyers, or tap View to see it.

Want families searching nearby to find you? Also tick List us in Find a group and choose your state, the kind of group, ages and faith (optional). See How to find a homeschool group near you.

To take it down, untick Turn on the public page and save. The page and its Ask to join link stop working right away.

Show events on it (Leaders and Admins)

When you add or edit an event, tick Show on the group's public page. Only its name, time and place appear there, not the details or who's coming. Circle events can't be shown. Good for open houses, park days and info nights.

Say you accept ESA funds (Admins)

If families can pay your class fees or dues with ESA funds, tick We accept ESA funds for our fees in the same settings, choose the platforms (like ClassWallet or Odyssey, or type another), add a Note for families if you like, and tap Save. Your public page then shows Accepts ESA funds, and your group's Payments page tells member families too.

Families who ask to join

A family who taps Ask to join makes a free account, answers your group's application questions and agrees to your guidelines, then waits for an Admin to approve them on Families, even if your group usually lets families in right away. If your group is set to Personal invites only, the page tells families to ask someone in the group for an invite instead.

Collecting payments? Stripe asks for a public website when you connect it. With your public page on, Gatherings gives Stripe that page. See How to collect dues and event fees.
