Move in from Homeschool-Life (Campus)

Bring your program over from Homeschool-Life or a spreadsheet: import the class list into a term, then invite every family with their students' classes waiting for them to confirm.

Programs with Campus can bring their classes and families over in two steps. Administrators: open Settings and tap Move in from Homeschool-Life (or Import your class list under Classes → Manage). Add the term you're moving into first.

Export from Homeschool-Life

Sign in to your Homeschool-Life site as an administrator and export to Excel or CSV:

  • Your class list: the classes or courses for the term, with teacher, time, room and size if you have them.
  • Your roster: members or students with a parent's email address, and each student's classes if your export includes them.

If an export opens in Excel, save it as CSV. Any membership site (Wild Apricot, Membership Toolkit…) or spreadsheet works the same way. Columns are found by their headings, so their order doesn't matter and extra columns are ignored.

1. Classes

Paste the class list or tap Or upload the CSV file, then Preview. We read Class (or Course), Teacher, Description, Room, Time (or Period), Spots, Ages (like 8-12), Tuition, Fee, Supplies and Prerequisite. Check the preview and tap Add … classes.

  • Classes already in the term (same name) are skipped, so it's safe to run again.
  • Times become the term's class times.
  • A teacher who is already in the group (same name) is linked, so they see the class; others are kept as a name. Invite them as staff on the Staff tab, then pick them on the class.
  • Tuition is per term; change it per class under Classes → Manage.

2. Families and enrollments

Paste the roster and tap Preview. It needs an Email column (a parent's), and can have Family, Student and Classes: one row per student, or one row per family with the students in one cell. Separate several classes or students with a semicolon (Algebra 1; Art).

The preview shows each family, whether they're already in the group, and any class names that don't match a class in the term (fix the names or import the class list first). Tap Invite … families:

  • Each family not already in the group gets a personal invite by email that only works for their address.
  • Each student's classes wait for the parent. Once they join, Classes shows Classes from your program's records: they pick which of their students it is and tap Enroll, or Not ours. Nothing is added to a family without a parent, and the usual rules (ages, prerequisites, forms) still apply.

We keep only students' first names and their classes, and picks nobody confirms are removed after 90 days. Remove all waiting picks takes them back sooner.

What's next

Post your events with an iCal import, set up tuition and forms, and follow the moving guide to tell families.
